at&t new technology

Briana,
When the iphone first came out I felt that it was one of the most hottest and “got to have” technological devices ever! Now, the new iphone 4 is a tiny bit ridiculous. You basically have a mini laptop in your hand. I’m not sure if it is because I’m getting older (but not that old) and turning into my mother or we are living in the generation where we want the whole world in our hands, but I feel that technology is getting crazy. You can watch television, movies, get on the internet, type a paper, email, make videos etc. Soon we want even need to go to school or work because we will be able to do it from our phones.

Sneaky sneaky internet

Melissa Morris

Melissa,
I have to agree, facebook and the internet in general have gotten more creative or in your words sneaky. When I was doing a marketing internship, for a company that will remain nameless, They had a facebook account, a myspace account, twitter, blogs, an actual website, and linkedln. Its all designed to draw you in and get you to buy something. It is all about brand awareness and trying to figure out your target market. Yes you will be forced to become a fan or like something that you never heard of because it is all about getting their name out there.

Fake Twitter Account

Brooke Turner

Brooke,
I have to agree with you. Whoever made the fake account is really hilarious. However, it is affecting the public relation issues dealing with BP. To add insult to injury, BP had the audacity to post an apology on Facebook. Either way, the fake twitter account and the facebook apology, it is not looking to good for BP and their public relation issues.

SEO vs. PR – A Valid Judgement?

SEO vs. PR – a valid judgement

Christen,

There is a fine line between the two.I agree to an extent because today most  search engine optimization (SEO) are offering online PR. Since the internet is a huge part of everyday life, SEO do have the upper hand. Early Public Relation agencies did not want to have anything to do with the internet and now its like they are rushing to keep up with the times. However, with the right Public Relation representative they can re-shape the PR industry. Because Public Relation representative are better equipped to handle social media because of the reputation.

Christen,

I agree that Public Relations is morphing into something that is more strategic, creative, and is offering greater value to consumers and brands. Basically the new public relations is the new advertising. Companies can get immediate feedback through blogs, social networking, and companies can even see ratings quickly. Other than facebook, Myspace, Blogs, Twitter, etc. some channels are also real big on direct email marketing, radio and television special reports. Public relations specialists also arrange and conduct programs to maintain contact between organization leaders and the public.
