My top 10 advice for PR students who are new to blogging

- use titles effectively
- Take your time and create it properly
- write as if you are trying to entertain the readers
- Post links and pictures related to your blog post.
- Please Please check your spelling and verb noun agreement.
- Interact with the readers and other bloggers.
- Don’t write long blogs. Keep it short, sweet, and straight to the point
- If you’re leaving a comment try to be professional and not offend the blogger.
- Be original
- Make sure it is well formated

I love this post! You have great advice to give newcomers who may be interested in starting up their own blog! I think these points are very vital when starting out a blog. If it doesn’t look like you know what you are talking about, people will most likely believe you don’t! Another piece of advice I would give them is to post updates to your blog EVERYWHERE! If you own a twitter, facebook, myspace, linkedin, create a post there that says, “HEY, I just posted this about this. Check it out,” to help create an audience! Without them why do you exist?!

Good advice. Another one is to remember grammar, capitalization and punctuation rules still apply. So many people forget them when they are blogging. Because it is electronic, it is almost like they think it’s ok to type like they text.
